Hotkeys for Next page and Previous page are mixed up

Hotkeys for Next page and Previous page are mixed up

Postby ath7 » Wed May 21, 2014 6:19 pm

One more bug: hotkeys for Next page lead me to Previous page, and hotkeys for Previous page lead me to Next page. http://i.imgur.com/ZuQYmZe.png
Please fix it.

I spoke about PgUp and PgDown keys, not the Left/Right.
Well, it doesn't make any sense, that the Next page hotkey leads to the Previous page :) It's against logic, even if it's Japanese mode.
Yeah, it is right, that scroll left and scroll right keys are mixed up, but why next page and previous page keys, too?

Mouse wheel up/down aren't mixed after all.

If you use the graphical controls it is logic, imagine you are reading a real book.
This is the list of affected controls:
- Previous <> Next
- First <> Last
- Slider
- Double page
- Scrolling is affected too
(when you can't scroll to one direction it try to scroll to another)

I agree that it's logical for graphical controls and scrolling, slider and double page.
But the title "Next"\"Previous" is implying that I would end up on the next\previous page. But now it's totally inverted.
The fact that Japanese people read from right to left doesn't change the fact that right hand is still the right hand, not the left :D But now the word Next turned out to be the word "Previous".

Maybe the right decision would be just to change hotkeys of Next\Previous page one to another in Japanese mode? For the reason not to cause the misunderstandings.

Of course the decision is up to you, I'm just basing on common sense.

Imagine you want to affect left and right keys to "previous" and "next",
in japanese mode it will be confusing you if the key don't do the opposite action.

BTW, Nothing is définitif, the user experience is very important to me.
If you do not like a feature, it concerns me.

It's more confusing when the key by the title "Next" leads to the "Previous" page. Btw the original CDisplay didn't mix up PgDown and PgUp keys even in Japanese mode.

So now, when I turn on\off Japanese mode, I should manually change hotkeys of Next\Previous pages in Settings? It's not convinient.

You have a different point of view, it is my goal to make everyone happy, and it is a hard task.
Just tell me what would be the best behavior for you and I will try to add an option.

I would be very happy if the Japanese mode didn't mix up hotkeys for the Next and Previous pages :) Only for the slider, scroll, graphical controls etc.
